Going to the Hamptons!

We are bringing our collection to the renowned end of summer event in Bridgehampton, NY, The Hampton Classic, opening one week from today.

“As one of the largest outdoor horse shows in the United States, and a premier destination for horse people, the Classic is a much-anticipated stop on the summer tour. Now well into its third successful decade, The Hampton Classic Horse Show is in a class all its own, both in the minds of spectators and horse people alike.”

It’s a beautiful event to watch magnificent riders and horses compete, stroll the beautiful, grounds, shop the Boutique Garden, and just people watching……..we will be in our usual spot by the red umbrella.  See you there!

One of the most anticipated events on the East End of Long Island is about to happen!

The Hampton Classic!

From August 23rd to 30th, Grand Prix day,

shop in the Boutiques Garden and Stable Row,

and  of course watch the magnificent horses and their riders compete.

Spot our booth with the Red Umbrella out front in the Boutiques Garden, showing our designs in fine shearling coats and accessories, tote bags and handwoven scarves.

A Sneak Peak of The Hampton Classic

Our friends at Brennan’s Bit & Bridle are showcasing two of our styles in shearling leading up the The Hampton Classic.

Located on the SE corner of The Bridgehampton Commons on Montauk Highway & Snake Hollow Rd., they are a hop skip and jump from the show grounds, and where riders of all ages are popping in to get their gear all summer long.

Stop in to see our quality of materials and construction to start your thoughts of a special jacket for winter, and then stop by our booth in the Boutique Garden at The Classic

to see more styles.

Brennan’s will also be doing appointments during The Classic if you want a private try on of your dream jacket.

Saturday in Bridgehampton

Home!

We are home, mentally full, & physically exhausted from an eight day show in Bridgehampton.

Lots happened.

Sales, weather (all kinds), meeting many new people, fishing & beach time, viewing glamour, Hamptons shopping, eating great food………

One of the highlights of the week was being invited to a party at Snake Hollow Studio, and getting to meet the artist Lynn Matsuoka, and birdhouse/furniture designer Keith Barker, whose warm hospitality and group of friends will be fondly remembered.

A New Design, Fall 2012

This is one of our new designs this fall, a fitted at the waist ebony merino shearling, trimmed in a bronze and black lambskin edging. It has a wide asymetrical collar that hugs the neck to keep out the chill, but can also be worn open to drape over the collarbone.

I just shipped this coat out to the woman who purchased it at the Hampton Classic, and she looked absolutely gorgeous in it, so the piece is now complete. So exciting when the right person gets the right coat!

Riding Boots & Bespoke Shoes Hand Crafted in New York City

Ever since I moved to New York in my early 20’s, I would wander around lower Manhattan before it was “Soho”, I would pass by a shop with an oval sign hanging above a small shop on a tiny little street. It had an image of a riding boot, and said Vogel Handmade Boots. Intriguing, and not at all what I expected to find there, although that area used to be primarily manufacturing, and where we would shop for buttons and zippers and trims.

Now that we are showing our shearling coats at The Hampton Classic in Bridgehampton, NY, I had the chance to meet Hank Vogel, the 3rd generation boot maker (his son is the 4th) in a company that began in 1879! A very nice man with a million dollar smile, carrying on the tradition.
