Biting our Nails!

As we sit quietly in our studio creating new work in our off season, another thing that goes on is applying to shows, and anxiously awaiting the results.

Although our medium of Leather has very few applicants and competition, it is not a slam dunk that we will be accepted by the jury (or selection committee which interprets the jurors scores)

Today is one of those days we are biting our nails, so I am posting a pic of a new piece, hoping it will bring us luck!

Stay tuned for updates…..

Custom Work in Leather

One of our long time clients had a dream. A purple leather coat. Over the years she has been a true lover of our work, a patron who has one of just about every collection we ever created, always special order as she has her own unique figure ,as many of us do.

This week she is traveling to Germany to visit family and friends, and wanted to show them all that older ladies can rock a sense of style, as she does, always with a smile on her face. So before shipping that purple leather coat, with a “surprise” silk lining, I had to snap a few pics, on me, although not quite my size, you get the idea! Bon Voyage Helene!

Do you have a dream coat in mind?

Talk to us!

Creating a Look, Shopping Handmade

This is how I want to look, so I am getting my order in early!

I already own this wonderful felted wool hat by Miriam Carter,

And the supple calfskin cross body bag by Dick Muller,

So all I need is this coat!

A new slim shape in black suede, silver zipper, and white stitched lambskin edging. This look can be translated into other shapes as well.

Collecting the right accessories and garments takes time to gather, which is so fun to seek out at the treasure hunt that is the modern Craft Show……so don’t miss out! We are participating in 2 shows this month, and when I have a moment I am shopping my fellow designers booths…..!

Baltimore Wrap Up

Kicked off 2016 with a bang, and want to thank all, new clients and old, that found us among 600+ great artist/makers to chose from at

ACC Baltimore.…..we hope you love your purchases for many years to come!

We began our set up with a proper lunch at Faidley’s, to give us strength and put us in that Baltimore mood!

Sharing some pics of the fun and serious fashion in the 400 aisle, the aisle for style!

See you next year!

All Time Fave

I post a lot of pics of our peplam style jacket

She is so cute, so sexy, so unlike your notion of what a shearling is……… so unbulky!

And she is loved and purchased by many.

But our most popular and best selling style is one that doesn’t photograph with as much pizazz, so I tend not to post as many shots of it.

We call it our Swing Coat, albeit it is a modified version of a swing.

It is so comfortable, fits over anything, comfort of a jacket, but functions like a coat, and with the fine lambskin edging and tailoring, a class act that will take you anywhere.

Here is one of the more subdued versions, bright colors and other details in stock as well.

Pink & Black

Shopped for new skins last week and found some things I absolutely drooled over! They just arrived, so stay tuned as we make a few pieces for our december shows.

Helping me out was my favorite girl, sporting a leather apron one of her clients made for her. Great work accessory!

black brisa inverted peplam jacket with a

pink wave stitch on lambskin trim.

Who will be the lucky girl who gets to be warm and stylish?

Look out Chicago, you are our next stop!

Young Collectors, Women of Style

I have so much fun in the booth with the wide range of women who love our work.

It is so exciting when the right woman and coat find each other, the work is complete!

Recently more and more younger women in their 20’s-40’s seem to be finding us, and I’m thrilled they feel sexy and fashionable and comfortable and warm in our coats!

This young woman in her 20’s was smart enough to encourage her parents to go to the PMA Craftshow a few years ago, and she wound up with this coat. It was love at first sight!

The Best in Finely Crafted Leather & Shearling

We are proud to be exhibiting at two shows early in our season with others who are the best in our medium, and that give a fair representation of the best in the field.

One of the oldest materials used by man, humans have been manipulating leather since prehistoric times to to clothe us, to carry things, as ornamental items, to keep our pants up, aide in our sexual fantasies, tether our animals, and so much more.

Most of us in this field are self taught, as there are very few educational opportunities available.

We are a small group, it is a laborious medium that mistakes cannot be made in, due to the nature of working in skins made one at a time, and most of us who have survived have been perfecting our craft for a very long time, some as custom sandal makers during the Woodstock era. There are no leather guilds or prizes to keep us going,

so Kudos to the shows that jury in the best in the medium of Leather!

Come see us all at

Wow, Those 80’s!

TBT, who remembers these leather jackets we made in the rockin’ 80’s?

So much color! And shoulder pads!

This was one of our more subdued “bomber” styles.

It was a fun time, but I wonder if that era will come back in fashion?

This image was scanned from a slide (remember those?)

taken on our “in house always available” model.

Remember her?
