and we have been working hard to bring some lighter spring colors in our shearling collection, as well as some Lambskins to order, and our popular cowls for that ultimate neck warmer with any jacket. Stop by my booth #7-5035 to see!
Yesterday here in the Northeast we got a little taste of spring. I have heard many New Yorkers say recently, enough black! And I couldn’t agree more during this time of seasonal and mood transition………lighten up, and consider color! Either the base color of a coat, or so many trim combinations, you can add a lightness to enjoy while still keeping warm…..Come see us at one of our next shows for a look at what we have been working on!
We are bringing our collection to the renowned end of summer event in Bridgehampton, NY, The Hampton Classic, opening one week from today.
“As one of the largest outdoor horse shows in the United States, and a premier destination for horse people, the Classic is a much-anticipated stop on the summer tour. Now well into its third successful decade, The Hampton Classic Horse Show is in a class all its own, both in the minds of spectators and horse people alike.”
It’s a beautiful event to watch magnificent riders and horses compete, stroll the beautiful, grounds, shop the Boutique Garden, and just people watching……..we will be in our usual spot by the red umbrella. See you there!

As a small studio that hand makes, and has contact with every single customer, every single piece that comes out of our studio and onto their bodies, we have a personal connection with each and every one. We strive to make garments that function beautifully, last a lifetime, that warm the body and the soul. We often get great feedback, you can read some on our testimonials page, which lift us up, just as we hope you are wearing our work. This week we received a beautiful one…..Thank you Susi!
Just wanted to share some feedback.
I wore my lime green coat on this crisp frosty day in n. Virginia. The mood everywhere is grey and subdued. I wore ‘your’ coat to stay warm, and cheer myself up.
The response has been startling!
I have never received so many compliments in such a short time. Best of all, they can from people who worked in various couture industries (Cartier etc). When asked I told them that we met at the PMA craft show. Most were regular visitors and will be looking out for you at the upcoming shows.
Bottom line – we all have an eye for a great product (I am an ex curator)- You have an amazing coat collection . Just confirming what I hope you already know. 👍
We do tons of special sizing in our studio, and recently upgraded our mannequin collection to reflect current shapes and sizes of the female figure, as the way we push and pull our selves, and our diets and exercise regimes, change over time.
More inspiration, almost too much to handle, from our trip to the Met earlier this month. I know I know. I’m in a museum, taking photographs of photographs. But these images conjured up so many memories for me, I wanted to take them with me, my particular memories of the photographs of Irving Penn.
As a girl, I started receiving subscriptions to Vogue at a very young age, and it was my bible. It came into my room and brought me to a fantasy land of fashion, of where I wanted to be. It was my visual sanctuary.
My mother made all of my clothes when I was growing up, and after each issue arrived, it was followed by a trip to the fabric mills, to collaborate on trying to recreate the illusion of what I saw. All my aunts were in on it in their own ways. So many of these Irving Penn images from the 50’s and 60’s remind me of my mother and aunts.
Here’s a sneak peak. Show closes July 30.
And we got to play a bit. They had Penn’s backdrop set up that he used in his studio, so as my “photographer” was with me, I got to particpate.
Above, her own words, Rei Kawakubo. We had a chance to catch this show at The Met last week, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. So interesting to have a conversation from our very different perspectives……my background in fiber art in three dimension, my partner’s in fashion design Haute-Couture, with a very different main inspiration from Yves St Laurent; mine western looking east, his eastern looking to the west, in our young and formative years. Working together for all these years, the push and pull arrives at influences from both. This show is a must see if you are in town.
Wether you are seeking a special one of a kind jacket, or a simple every day, beautifully made, functional, coat,we will work with you to select and/or make the perfect shearling, to best enhance you and your wardrobe!
Our skins are of the ultimate lightness, and our construction techniques eliminate bulk, so you can enjoy your very special jacket, off the rack or custom fit, for years to come.
Hope to see you!
We had such an amazing experience this weekend working with Corey Aldrich at the Electric City Couture runway show and Pop Up event in Saratoga Springs, NY
A fundraiser for Universal Preservation Hall, a Performing Arts Education and Entertainment venue for Saratoga Springs, NY. The restoration of the Saratoga Springs Universal Preservation Hall has been a true community project. The sponsors and attendees came out in full force, we had such a great time meeting and working with all of you. We surely left a piece of our hearts in your community, and hope to be back soon!
Here are some snaps of our trip, preparing for show, fitting some of the models, our pop up shop, time out with local artist friends, including visiting Textile Studio….it was a whirlwind of a weekend!
