Color!

We have been creating some pieces in C O L O R , a little cape, a modern stole in shearling, to have to throw over your shoulders when the calendar tells us the season it should be, and the thermometer has the real story.

We are headed to Saratoga NY this week for a not to miss fashion event,

ELECTRIC CITY COUTURE

including 2 fabulous runway shows, saturday at 7:30pm: SHATTERED

and sunday at 3 pm: REPOSE (we are in this show)

One of a Kind

Having ten gorgeous models assigned to us for the upcoming fashion event at Electric City Couture, (as well as important Jury images need to be taken!) we have been inspired to among other things do our signature annual One of a Kind Color Block coat, this year a short swing on a beautiful black napalan skin.

See it live on the runway April 17

Creating a Look, Shopping Handmade

This is how I want to look, so I am getting my order in early!

I already own this wonderful felted wool hat by Miriam Carter,

And the supple calfskin cross body bag by Dick Muller,

So all I need is this coat!

A new slim shape in black suede, silver zipper, and white stitched lambskin edging. This look can be translated into other shapes as well.

Collecting the right accessories and garments takes time to gather, which is so fun to seek out at the treasure hunt that is the modern Craft Show……so don’t miss out! We are participating in 2 shows this month, and when I have a moment I am shopping my fellow designers booths…..!

All Time Fave

I post a lot of pics of our peplam style jacket

She is so cute, so sexy, so unlike your notion of what a shearling is……… so unbulky!

And she is loved and purchased by many.

But our most popular and best selling style is one that doesn’t photograph with as much pizazz, so I tend not to post as many shots of it.

We call it our Swing Coat, albeit it is a modified version of a swing.

It is so comfortable, fits over anything, comfort of a jacket, but functions like a coat, and with the fine lambskin edging and tailoring, a class act that will take you anywhere.

Here is one of the more subdued versions, bright colors and other details in stock as well.

Pink & Black

Shopped for new skins last week and found some things I absolutely drooled over! They just arrived, so stay tuned as we make a few pieces for our december shows.

Helping me out was my favorite girl, sporting a leather apron one of her clients made for her. Great work accessory!

New One of a Kind at the Berkshires Craft Show

We have been busy in the studio designing and making while the temps get up in the 90’s, thinking of how cold for how long the winter will be.

On my bucket list has been to do an easy vest, one to just throw on and let it flow, or to tighten it up with your favorite belt as I did here in a quick shot on the mannequin

Want it?

Come to Great Barrington in August, to The Berkshire Craft Show!

So far we have done a handful of one-of-a-kinds, and we would love to have you come try one on, and give us feedback!

A Sneak Peak of The Hampton Classic

Our friends at Brennan’s Bit & Bridle are showcasing two of our styles in shearling leading up the The Hampton Classic.

Located on the SE corner of The Bridgehampton Commons on Montauk Highway & Snake Hollow Rd., they are a hop skip and jump from the show grounds, and where riders of all ages are popping in to get their gear all summer long.

Stop in to see our quality of materials and construction to start your thoughts of a special jacket for winter, and then stop by our booth in the Boutique Garden at The Classic

to see more styles.

Brennan’s will also be doing appointments during The Classic if you want a private try on of your dream jacket.

Spring, a Time to Renew

We wore all of our coats so much this winter, and so glad to have each and every one of them.

My most recent shearling is from 2007, (the shoemakers daughter syndrome!) still going strong, but I feel like a fresh one would perk me up,

to have something nice to wear on special days.

The older ones get relegated to sloppy weather days, dog walking, and all other daily routine things I do.

I’ve been working with Toshiki on a new design for a new one that will suit me.

I really like the black on black we made for our daughter this year. Something similar but different maybe?

I also love color, and the Fringe!, so much fun. What about you?

Are you feeling a refresher coat is due?

Get a jump start on a plan, (or maybe find that bargain!) at our last show of the season,

Still Winter! Shop Shearling for Men (and Women!) at CraftMorristown

We are back from Baltimore, which yielded some very cold weather, a blizzard, and some very good sales.

New this year are two new samples for men, traditional shapes, a pea coat and a duffle.

On setup day I nabbed the excellent and very handsome jeweler Tom Turner to try them on!

Could not have asked for a better model, Tom!

Next up CraftMorristown, March 13-15

Yes, we do made to measure as well.

In Two Weeks……..

After two months in the studio we will be packing up our new work for a string of shows

So if you are sick of those same old coats we have worn so much this winter, come get a fresh one!

New Direction, Black on Black

We just finished a shearling for the most beautiful girl in the world (You got it, our daughter!)

A play of the suede shearling paired with the napa in geometric cut outs, plus the contrast of a skinny silouette with an oversized hood, results in a very modern father/daughter collaboration.

She will definitely need it in this frigid New York City winter!

Our Blue Period, in Shearling

We recently ordered a box of luxuriously silky blue skins from the wonderful tannery we order from in Spain, and we couldn’t keep our hands off it. Here are two new pieces…..to see more come this week to our
