The Best Leather & Shearling @ The Hampton Classic

It is always so inspiring to meet others in your field who are at the top of their game, whose hearts beat faster when they feel they have finished stitching a perfect piece.

Here at The Hampton Classic where we are showing our shearlings, we have met two leather craftsmen who are making exquisite work.

One is Charles Pinnell, from Crozet, Va., who told us he got hooked on working in leather when he was 16. I will post a few photographs, because there are no words to describe how great the work is.

Running into Marcus Samuelsson

Tomorrow is our daughter’s birthday, and after racking my brain what to get the girl who seems to have it all, we decided to make a plan to do something fun together after our exhaustive August show schedule. One restaurant that was on my mind in particular was Red Rooster, in Harlam. After spending the day running around the garment center, I stopped into Whole Foods on Houston St., and the owner/chef himself was there for a book signing! So I bought his New York Times bestseller, and he signed it “Happy Birthday Sonia, see you in Harlam, Marcus”. The perfect birthday card!

An I absolutely LOVE his sense of color and style!

Shearlings + @The Berkshire Craft Fair

I am packing my bags and getting on the ferry to cross Long Island Sound in the morning, headed up to Great Barrington, Ma, where for the 11th year I will be exhibiting at The Berkshire Craft Fair with my collection of Toshiki and Maryszka Shearlings and accessorie. I have enjoyed every minute of doing this show, and the sophisticated art & culture crown that comes thru have become treasured customers. Hope you stop by to see what’s new this year!

Upscale Craft in the Berkshires

If you have been to the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, The American Craft Exposition in Evanston, Ill, The Washington or Westchester Craft Show, or any of the other top shows in the country, then you won’t want to miss The Berkshire Craft Fair, coming to town next week. Many of the same artists are exhibiting here. Small by comparison, it is a fundraiser for a wonderful high school that is not ignoring the arts, and in a community that is steeped in creativity with Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow, Mass Moca, all in the area. The scale of the show makes for a good relaxed shopping experience before you head out to enjoy the rest of what the area has to offer.  Visit our booth to see Toshiki  and Maryszka shearlings, in the hall by the food court.
